Hanwha Robotics and Mind AI are joining forces to commercialize “Physical AI” robots capable of seeing, listening, and making decisions on their own.

On October 28, Hanwha Robotics CEO Byung Chan Jung and Maum AI CEO Hong Seob Choi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Collaboration in the Field of Physical AI at Maum AI’s headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Physical AI refers to technology that enables robots to perceive their surroundings, make autonomous judgments, and take necessary actions accordingly.

Under this agreement, the two companies will apply Maum AI’s Vision-Language-Action (VLA) based autonomous control model, WoRV, to Hanwha Robotics’ next-generation robotics platform and work toward its commercialization.

The partnership also includes the joint development of a Digital Proving Ground (DPG) — a digital simulation environment for product testing — to enhance verification and reliability of Physical AI technologies. Through this initiative, the companies aim to expand the application of Physical AI across various industries, including manufacturing, construction, and services.

Maum AI is a leading AI platform company pioneering the domestic Physical AI ecosystem. The company has developed its own Physical AI models, demonstrating technical excellence through applications in autonomous agricultural machinery, patrol robots, and barrier-free kiosks.

A Hanwha Robotics representative stated, “This partnership will allow us to introduce Physical AI technologies tailored to diverse industrial environments. We look forward to strengthening our position as a leading Physical AI company not only in Korea but also in the global robotics market through continued collaboration.”
