□ Machinery division to join the initiative in March, offering KRW 10 million to employees with newborns, following the lead of the distribution and service divisions

□ Executive Vice President Dongseon Kim reaffirms commitment to supporting employees, extends program group-wide

Hanwha Robotics has announced that it will provide a KRW 10 million parenting support grant to employees with newborns, as part of the group-wide “Parenting Support Relay” initiative. Following its debut in Hanwha’s distribution and service divisions earlier this year, the program is now being adopted by the machinery division.

The parenting support grant program will officially launch in Hanwha’s machinery division, including Hanwha Robotics, starting March 2025. The benefit applies regardless of how many times an employee has given birth, and in cases of multiple births (e.g., twins), the grant is provided per child.

The initiative is part of Hanwha Group’s broader effort to help employees better balance work and family life. Championed by Executive Vice President Dongseon Kim, Head of Future Strategy, the grant was first introduced at Hanwha Galleria and Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, including their subsidiaries.

As of February, 14 families in the distribution and service divisions have received the grant. Nam Min-woo, a manager at Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, shared: “There are a lot of expenses right after childbirth, and the grant eased that burden significantly. I’ve been able to balance work and parenting much more smoothly. This isn’t just a one-time gesture—it truly felt like the company was walking with us through a difficult time.”ut in Hanwha’s distribution and service divisions earlier this year, the program is now being adopted by the machinery division.

After seeing positive feedback and tangible results, EVP Kim decided to expand the program to the machinery division just two months after it was first launched.

This program is more than just a symbolic celebration of childbirth—it represents a commitment to sharing the real burdens employees face, and is expected to contribute to improved productivity as well.

The swift expansion of the parenting support initiative—from the distribution and service divisions to the machinery division within just two months—highlights EVP Kim’s strong commitment to employee welfare.

The program originated from direct conversations with junior employees, during which Kim listened to their personal challenges. Hearing how difficult it was for many to manage both work and parenting, he made a bold promise to support them starting this year.

After the program’s initial rollout, EVP Kim personally met with employees preparing for childbirth to reaffirm the importance and impact of such support. He then directed that the initiative be extended to additional divisions, including the machinery arm.

“Listening to employees expecting children, I was reminded of how necessary this support is,” said Kim. “We will continue expanding meaningful programs that go beyond symbolic gestures to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with employees in facing real-life challenges.”
